Midfielder urges his team-mates to forget Blackpool drubbing

Jonny Howson has declared Leeds need to move on from their crushing 5-0 home defeat at the hands of Blackpool. The defeat at Elland Road ended the Whites' six-match unbeaten home run and was their heaviest this season. But the 23-year-old believes his side can take inspiration from the reaction to their 4-0 thrashing by Cardiff last season which spurred a 12-match unbeaten run. Leeds-born Howson also revealed the club can follow the example of Manchester United who followed their 6-1 defeat by Manchester City with three straight wins.

Move on

"After the Cardiff game, we went on a bit of a good run and hopefully we can now do the same," he said. "The Blackpool game happened. It's gone now. No matter what we say or do it's not going to change anything. We've all got to be men out there and move on. "Manchester United got hammered a couple of weeks back and they've put in some solid performances. "Sometimes you to look at the better teams and take note of that."
