Aston Villa duo have Alan Hutton and Jermaine Jenas have returned to training ahead of their Sunderland clash.

Boost for McLeish ahead of Black Cats trip

Aston Villa have received a double fitness boost ahead of their trip to Sunderland with Alan Hutton and Jermaine Jenas returning to training. Full-back Hutton had been doubtful for the weekend visit to the Stadium of Light after suffering a facial injury in last Saturday's 2-1 defeat by West Brom. The ex-Rangers player needed seven stitches after a clash with team-mate Charles N'Zogbia, which occurred just before half-time, forcing him to be substituted. In a double boost for manager Alex McLeish, on-loan midfielder Jenas could finally be in line to make his debut for the club on Wearside. The Tottenham midfielder is yet to play for his new club as he has been laid low with thigh and Achilles injuries, although he is now on the road to recovery after resuming first-team training. That means that the only player unavailable for McLeish for Saturday's game is USA international Eric Lichaj, who damaged his hip in September.
