Midfielder not ruling out return against Nurnberg

On-loan Wolfsburg midfielder Alexander Hleb is hoping to make his debut for the Bundesliga club this weekend as he closes on a return from injury. The Belarus international joined Wolfsburg on loan from Barcelona in the summer but is yet to feature for the German side due to a knee problem. Hleb, who spent time on loan at Birmingham last term, is eyeing a return to training by the end of the week and has not ruled out featuring in Saturday's home clash with Nurnberg. "My ambition is to be back in full training by the end of this week and to look at whether that would be enough to allow me to return to the pitch," the former Arsenal man told Deutsche Presseagentur. "My knee looks fine. My muscular system is starting to grow again and I am very happy about this. "I have gone through speed training without any problems. I am confident and happy that the manager, as well as the team, are looking forward to seeing me play."
