Keeper signs two-year contract extension

Hugo Lloris has signed a two-year contract extension at Lyon and will now remain with the club until the summer of 2015. The France international goalkeeper has been with the Ligue 1 outfit since 2008, succeeding the legendary Gregory Coupet at Stade Gerland. At 24 years of age, he is widely regarded as one of the finest shot-stoppers in European football. He has been linked with numerous top clubs in the past, but has remained loyal to Lyon throughout. Lloris has now committed himself to the club for another two years and becomes the second player in the space of a week to agree fresh terms, with Michel Bastos having already signed up. "Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to announce the contract extension of Hugo Lloris, who has committed to two more seasons with the OL," read a statement released on the club's official website. "Olympique Lyonnais welcomes his commitment over the long term, as with Michel Bastos a few days ago, which further supports the policy and the new dynamics of the club."
