McClaren admits knee injury is a 'big blow' for Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren has admitted it is a 'big blow' to have lost Chris Cohen for almost a year due to the knee ligament damage he suffered against Derby. Cohen was injured on the ground as Jamie Ward embarked on a mazy run to score the Rams' equalising goal in the clash between the East Midlands rivals at the City Ground on Saturday. Scans have revealed the bad news, leaving manager McClaren distraught for the 24-year-old. "It's a big blow for us and the club but a bigger blow for him because he's been our top performer this season," said McClaren. "I was distraught when it happened and distraught when I found out the results. He has to take nearly a year out but he'll be back and he'll be stronger and better. But we'll miss him." Despite being a midfielder, Cohen has started the season playing at full-back and Forest have already brought in cover with the signing of Clint Hill from QPR.
