Dutch winger looking forward to playing for Italian giants

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Netherlands international Eljero Elia from Hamburg on a four-year contract. Elia, who had three years remaining on his contract at Hamburg, has linked up with the Italian giants for a fee of €9million (£8m). He was linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool, with his agent admitting the winger would prefer the chance to play in the Premier League. However, he has accepted an offer from Italian giants Juve and is looking forward to playing for Antonio Conte's side.

Biggest club

"I know a lot about Juventus," Elia told the club's official website. "This is the biggest club in Italy. "For me it was very important that the coach [Antonio Conte] wanted me in making this decision." Elia becomes the third Dutchman to play for Juve and he is keen to emulate the impact of his compatriots in Turin. "I hope I can do as well as them," said Elia, who follows in the footsteps of Edgar Davids and Edwin van der Sar. "I want to show what I can do. "I know I can bring speed and skill to Juventus, and I hope to score a lot of goals."
