Uruguay striker heads to Inter as replacement for Eto'o

Diego Forlan is poised to complete his move from Atletico Madrid to Inter Milan on Tuesday. The 32-year-old has been at Atletico since 2007 and during that period they have clinched the Europa League and the Super Cup. But the former Manchester United forward will now take his talents to Italy where he hopes to be just as successful.

Great opportunity

"I would like to thank (Inter) president (Massimo) Moratti for this great opportunity," Forlan told the club's official website. "I am very happy to be here and to play in a fantastic team like Inter. "This is a great opportunity in my career." Forlan will be brought in to compensate for the loss of Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, who moved to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala last week. "Samuel is an exceptional player and a great champion," added Forlan. "I am here to win at Inter. "My aim is to play and to score as many goals as possible with my new team."
