Midfielder set for debut this weekend

Sweden international Albin Ekdal has joined Cagliari from Serie A rivals Juventus in a co-ownership deal. The 22-year-old moved to the Bianconeri from Swedish outfit Brommapojkarna in 2008 but failed to break into the first team, making just three league appearances for the Turin based club. The midfielder has had season-long loan spells with Siena and Bologna in order to find regular football, the latter also buying half of his registration before losing it back to Juve in a blind auction. However, Cagliari have swooped to sign the player on a similar arrangement, paying a €1.5million co-ownership fee as well as €3million over three years. He is now free to make his debut for the Sardinia-based club against champions AC Milan this weekend.
