Bazdarevic focusing on football ahead of Euro clash

Sochaux manager Mecha Bazdarevic is fed up of discussing want-away winger Modibo Maiga's future. The Mali international is wanted by Newcastle, although Sochaux have no plans to sell the 23-year-old ex-Le Mans man. Maiga was absent for Sochaux's weekend clash with Caen and he will also be missing for Thursday's Europa League clash with Metalist Kharkiv. Bazdarevic is growing tired of constant Maiga questions as he is focused on their upcoming clash with Karkiv, which he knows will be difficult without their want-away star. "I would like to talk about something else," Bazdarevic said.

Important

"We have an important Europa League match to play and we've got a lot of ambition. "The absence of Maiga is a handicap, but we will try to make up for it." Sochaux chairman Alexandre Lacombe stated: "The squad is fine. "They were surprised to not see Maiga playing last weekend. "But I have seen the players every day and they aren't disturbed anymore."
