Skysports.com understands Stoke defender Andrew Davies has linked up with Crystal Palace for training ahead of a possible move to Selhurst Park.

Stoke are thought to be willing to let Davies move on after an injury-hit spell at the Britannia Stadium.

Davies ended last season on loan at former club Middlesbrough, but made only six appearances due to injury.

Palace boss Dougie Freedman is now weighing up a move for the former England Under 21 international as he looks to bolster his defensive options.

Davies is set to feature in a couple of pre-season friendlies so that Freedman can cast an eye over him before deciding whether or not to offer him a deal at Selhurst Park.
