Brazilian midfielder loaned to Turkish giants

Serie A outfit Juventus have confirmed that Felipe Melo is to join Galatasaray on a season-long loan. The Brazilian has slipped down the pecking order in Turin and was expected to be on the move this summer. Juve have revealed that Galatasaray are to pay €1.5million euros for Melo's services. They will also have the option to make the move permanent should the 28-year-old impress during his time in Turkey.

Offloaded

Melo has been offloaded in the wake of Juve's capture of Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal, a man who brings tough-tackling and technical ability with him to Italy. It was suggested earlier in the summer that Melo could be tempted to try his luck in England, but no suitable offers materialised. He will now be hoping to get his career back on track in Istanbul, allowing him to force his way back into the Brazil national set-up. He has not been called upon by his country since Mano Menezes inherited the managerial reins from Dunga.
