Midfielder arrives at St Mary's on four-year deal from Chelsea

Southampton have completed the signing of highly-rated midfielder Jack Cork from Chelsea. Skysports.com revealed earlier on Thursday that a move was close and the news has now been confirmed that Cork has joined the Saints. The England Under 21 international, who spent last season on loan at Burnley, has signed a four-year deal for a fee thought to be around £750,000. Cork is no stranger to St Mary's, having spent three months on loan with Southampton back in 2008, and the 22-year-old is delighted to be returning to the Championship new boys. Cork told the club's official website: "It was a massive decision to make. "I had another year left at Chelsea, but I've been wanting to get away for a while and have been waiting for the right move to present itself. "The chance to come to Southampton came along, and having known the manager and having been here before and knowing some of the guys, it just felt like it was the right move for me."
