Tottenham are set to face competition for the signature of Eliaquim Mangala.

French defender now thought to be attracting interest from Italy

Tottenham are set to face competition for the signature of Eliaquim Mangala. Spurs have recently been mentioned as possible suitors for the Standard Liege defender, who has previously been linked with their arch rivals Arsenal. The 20-year-old is under contract with the Belgian side until 2013 but it is thought he is ready to move on this summer. And while L'Equipe have reported Spurs are eyeing Mangala, they believe several other clubs from across Europe are interested in the France Under-21 international. French clubs Paris St Germain and Lille have already been linked with him but it is rumoured that Juventus have contacted his agent and Italian rivals Udinese are preparing an offer too. A bid of around £4million is expected to be enough for Standard to cash in on their star defender.
