Mertens and Strootman swap Utrecht for PSV
PSV Eindhoven have completed the signing of Utrecht duo Dries Mertens and Kevin Strootman on a five-year deals.
Midfielder Strootman only joined Utrecht in January from second division outfit Sparta Rotterdam and soon impressed in the top flight.
The 21-year-old was handed his Holland debut in February against Austria as a replacement for Theo Janssen.
And 24-year-old winger Mertens, who spent two seasons with Utrecht after joining from AGOVV Apeldoorn, has two caps for Belgium.
Media reports are suggesting that PSV will pay Utrecht a fee in the region of €13million (£11.7m) for the pair.
