Jewell looking forward to working with striker for a third time

Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of former Wigan Athletic striker Nathan Ellington on a two-year contract. Skysports.com revealed last week that Ellington was in talks over a move to Portman Road following his recent departure from Watford. Ellington had spent the end of last season on loan at Preston North End and his move to Ipswich will see the forward play for Town manager Paul Jewell for the third time in his career. Jewell paid £1.2million to take Ellington to Wigan in 2002 and, six years later, signed the forward on loan during his time in charge at Derby County. The Ipswich boss had been keen to bring in extra firepower to follow up the recent capture of Michael Chopra and is looking forward to working with Ellington again. "I've worked with Nathan before at Wigan and Derby and know his strengths," Jewell told the club's official website. "He has shown he can score goals at this level and will add to the competition for places within the squad."
