Striker understood to have agreed St Andrews switch

Sky Sports sources understand Marlon King has agreed personal terms with Birmingham. It is thought the striker is on the verge of a move to St Andrews after turning down the offer of a new contract at Coventry. King has been with the Sky Blues since securing a one-year deal at the Ricoh Arena last September following his release from jail. He produced a string of fine performances in the Championship to attract the attention of rival clubs, and Birmingham became linked with a summer swoop after suffering relegation from the Premier League. There has nevertheless been some confusion regarding King's future, with the Sky Blues announcing over the weekend that they had a 'double verbal agreement' that the 31-year-old would sign the new deal on offer. However, Birmingham now appear poised to finalise a transfer that would considerably bolster Alex McLeish's attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
