Sunderland face competition for Ghana defender
John Mensah's agent claims Rangers have expressed an interest in signing the Ghana international.
The central defender is back at Lyon after spending the last two seasons on loan at Sunderland.
Sunderland were thought to be weighing up a move to sign Mensah on a permanent basis, but Rangers could now rival them for the 28-year-old.
Rangers have expressed an interest in Ghana defender John Mensah, according to the player's agent.
Interest
"It is true that Rangers have expressed interest in John," Mensah's agent, Fabien Piveteau, told
GhanaWeb. "But we are looking at other offers and taking into consideration the price tag before making a move.
"We have to sit with John's former club Lyon for a better deal for both parties, for now, we are just considering some factors before taking the next plan of action."
Rangers are in the market for defensive reinforcements with Madjid Bougherra expected to quit Ibrox this summer.
