Hughes hopes to keep Gera

Mark Hughes hopes Zoltan Gera will decide to stay at Fulham, but confirmed John Pantsil is likely to leave.

Fulham boss also confirms Pantsil is set to move on in the summer

Mark Hughes remains hopeful Zoltan Gera will decide to stay at Fulham, but confirmed John Pantsil is likely to leave the club. Gera is out of contract in the summer and marked what could be his final appearance for the club by being sent off in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal. The versatile Hungary international has previously suggested he is likely to quit Craven Cottage in search of regular first-team football elsewhere. However, Hughes is keeping his fingers crossed that Gera's Fulham career does not end on the low of the red card against Arsenal.

Disappointed

Hughes said: "We are still hopeful he will decide to stay here. "We would be very disappointed if his Fulham career ended on that note. We hope that's not the last we see of him here. "Zolly may feel he will get more opportunities elsewhere, but ideally we would like him to stay." Hughes, though, accepted there would be changes over the summer, with Ghanaian full-back Pantsil tipped to move on after not playing for Fulham since February. "The likelihood is that John Pantsil will leave the club," added Hughes. "We are trying to freshen up the squad and the view is that we can look at other alternatives."
