St Johnstone have been boosted by the news that Liam Craig has signed a two-year contract extension. The 24-year-old midfielder's had been out of contract in the summer, but is now tied to the McDiarmid Park side until 2013. Craig has made more than 100 appearances for Saints since moving from Falkirk, initially on loan, in 2007. "The club is delighted to announce this afternoon that Liam Craig has signed a two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at Saints until the end of May 2013," read a statement on the club's official website. "The midfielder, signed from Falkirk for a tribunal-decided fee, has been pivotal in the side's success over the past few seasons and with his current deal due to expire in the summer all parties moved to secure his stay at McDiarmid Park."
