Striker leaves after a series of problems

Roma have terminated the contract of Brazilian striker Adriano after seven months in the Italian capital. The former Inter Milan ace played just five games in Serie A for Roma during his time at the Stadio Olimpico. Adriano's contract was due to run until June 2013 but Roma said they had reached agreement with him to end it early. Adriano failed to turn up for training as scheduled after spending weeks in Brazil recovering from a broken arm, much to the annoyance of Roma officials. "We found an agreement for an amicable early end to his contract, which was to have finished on June 30, 2013," said a club statement. The 29-year-old, who has battled a number of personal problems, arrived at Roma in the summer and he is expected to return to his native Brazil.
