Gonzalo Higuain could be in line for a remarkable return to action next month.
The Argentine international looked to be sidelined for the rest of the season after undergoing back surgery in January.
Real Madrid were sure that Higuain would not play again this term, which prompted their search for a striker and the eventual signing of Emmanuel Adebayor.
However, off-the-field Higuain has been making excellent progress and a target has emerged as the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on April 20th.
However, there are also reports that he could be involved in the El Clasico match in La Liga four days earlier, or even the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the start of the month should they overcome Lyon.
Speaking to Real Madrid TV, Higuain did not talk about his possible return but admitted he had a target.
"The other day somebody told me that recoveries are made faster if you have a target," he said.
"Dreaming about your return, how to mark it? How to celebrate it? That improves a player physically and emotionally."
