American ready to prove himself

Aston Villa loan ace Michael Bradley is hoping he will soon get the chance to prove himself. The 23-year-old American international joined Villa on loan for the rest of the season from German side Borussia Monchengladbach last month. Bradley has made just one substitute appearance since moving to England, but, with Jean Makoun set to serve a suspension, he is now looking to make his mark. "The main thing for me is to show I'm a guy who should be on the field every week," Bradley told Sports Illustrated. "That's the challenge, whether [Makoun] is suspended or not. "It's always been something I wanted, to come and play here." Bradley hopes he can make his move to Villa a permanent one in the summer, adding: "I want to get to the end of my career and say I played in the biggest games for the biggest clubs. "Until now there aren't really any Americans who have played consistently at the top of leagues, fighting to win Europa Leagues or Champions Leagues. "To play on a good team that is able to win something would be special."
