Striker feels he has no future at Peterborough

Rene Howe is hoping to earn a permanent contract at Bristol Rovers after admitting he feels he has no future at Peterborough United. The striker is currently on loan at Rovers and scored his first goal for the League One strugglers in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Oldham Athletic. He has struggled to make an impression at Peterborough since joining in 2007 and believes the return of Darren Ferguson as manager means he will have to look for another club. "When Darren Ferguson took over he thought I was a big-time Charlie," said Howe. "I'd turn up to training in my Audi TT convertible, wearing flash ear-rings with my music blaring out. "He was probably right, but I've grown up a lot since then. "When he left and Gary Johnson took over I was loaned out. Then I got a call from my agent telling me Peterborough had appointed Darren Ferguson as manager again, so I guess I have no future there now. "With a bit of luck I can help Rovers stay up and earn myself a contract here as well."
