Defender comfortable with current situation at Portman Road

Ipswich Town defender Gareth McAuley has confirmed he is keen to still be at Portman Road next season. McAuley's current deal expires in the summer and the 31-year-old rejected the offer of a new two-year contract in January. However, following talks with Town manager Paul Jewell, the centre-half revealed he would be happy to stay with the Championship club. "I'm quite comfortable with the way things are," said McAuley in the Green 'Un. "I spoke to the gaffer and we had a good chat about things, and we are both comfortable with the situation. "I said that I will keep him in the picture, if I hear anything, and that sort of thing. "The way it is, I want to stay here and I want to play my football here. "I see good times ahead for the club and that's pretty much it for the minute, until something happens."
