Reds midfielder primed for SPL switch

Hibernian are close to completing the deal for Liverpool's Victor Palsson while Marouane Zemmama's talks with Middlesbrough have been confirmed. Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has been scouring the transfer market for reinforcements this month and 19-year-old Icelandic midfielder Palsson is all set to join. He has undergone a medical at Easter Road and the SPL club are now awaiting the completion of the required paperwork before sealing the deal for his signature. While one player is coming in, there could be one going out after Calderwood confirmed that Zemmama, who is out of contract in the summer, is in talks with Middlesbrough - a story skysports.com revealed on Thursday. Calderwood accepts Boro are free to hold talks with the 27-year-old Moroccan, who was brought to Hibs in 2006 by then manager Tony Mowbray. "It's just the contractual situation, with him being out of contract," explained Hibs' boss. "Everything's been followed to the 'T'. We know where they are. "He's been able to have conversations with Middlesbrough and they're ongoing. "I would be happy for him to stay. He's a creative one and one who can cause problems for the opposition."
