Baggies midfielder hoping to play against Wigan

West Brom midfielder Steven Reid believes he has an outside chance of being available for their upcoming game with Wigan. The Baggies tackle fellow strugglers Wigan on 1st February although recent knee surgery means Reid is doubtful to feature. The 29-year-old is hoping to return to full training this weekend and build up enough fitness to enter Roberto Di Matteo's consideration. However, he has acknowledged that having recently undergone knee surgery he should not push himself and suffer a setback in his recovery.

Hopeful

"I'm hoping to get back into full training at the weekend if I do enough with the physios over the next few days," explained Reid. "I need to be in full training by then if I'm to have half a chance of being involved against Wigan. "But I don't want to push it too much as I only had surgery two and a half weeks ago."
