Holloway close to bringing in fresh faces

Blackpool are believed to be closing in on two new players but Ian Holloway has refused to name his targets. Pool skipper Charlie Adam has handed in a transfer request after Liverpool followed Aston Villa and Birmingham in making bids for the Scottish midfielder. But the Seasiders manager Ian Holloway is thought to be close to completing deals to bring in two new players. Holloway is understood to be chasing two more recruits, and although he will not give names, two strikers and a left-back are said to be on his wanted list. "I won't talk about other people's players," he told the Blackpool Gazette. "I wouldn't be so rude and undignified," Holloway added in a clear dig at Villa boss Gerard Houllier, who told the press about his interest in Adam. The Tangerines are currently 12th in their first Premier League campaign after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Sunderland. Pool are preparing for the visit of league leaders Manchester United on Tuesday night before hosting rock-bottom West Ham on 2nd February.
