West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo faces a tough decision over who to start in goal against Blackpool.

Carson and Myhill vying to start against Blackpool

West Bromwich Albion manager Roberto Di Matteo admits he faces a tough decision over who to start in goal against Blackpool on Saturday. Captain Scott Carson has started all 21 Premier League games for the Baggies this season, but was guilty of a glaring mistake in the 3-0 defeat at Fulham last week. Boaz Myhill was given a chance in the FA Cup loss at Reading and the Wales international could retain his place for the visit of Blackpool. Di Matteo has yet to decide who will be his No.1 against the Seasiders as he looks to end a run of six successive defeats for the club.

Best shape

"I thought Boaz did well on Saturday and I'll have a tough decision to make," said Di Matteo. "I haven't made the decision yet but I will later when the time is right. "I want to allow myself time to think about it and see how training goes, like with any other players. "I will talk with Dean Kiely (goalkeeping coach) but ultimately I will make the decision. "We need to look at who is in the best shape or form to win a game for us."
