Latics loanee keen to stay at Hamilton

Hamilton loan star Jon Routledge is hoping to extend his stay at the club until the end of the season. Routledge is currently on loan at Hamilton from Wigan until January after arriving at New Douglas Park in August. The 21-year-old, who has recently returned from a month out through injury, has impressed during his time at Hamilton making 11 starts in the SPL and scoring one goal for the Accies. Routledge, who is highly-regarded at Wigan, is enjoying his time in Scotland and he would be happy to stay at Hamilton for the rest of the campaign so that he can get more first-team action under his belt. "I hope that the two managers can come to an agreement so that I can see out the season with Hamilton," Routledge told skysports.com. "I am really enjoying my football and the set-up. The lads are quality and I just really want to help the team get away from the bottom of the table."
