Defender yet to sign new contract

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has called on the club to resolve Ashley Williams' contract situation. Rodgers revealed last month the club were in talks with the Wales international over a new deal to keep him at the Liberty Stadium. However, a deal is yet to be sorted out with a number of Premier League clubs waiting in the wings to pounce for the highly-rated central defender. The likes of Wolves, West Brom and West Ham are all thought to be monitoring Williams' situation and Rodgers is keen to sort out the player's future. "All I can do is say what I feel we need. It's up to the board and the agent," Rodgers told the Daily Star Sunday. "His wages have been agreed but details need to be cleared up." Williams confirmed he had yet to put pen to paper on the deal on offer, saying: "I haven't signed the contract yet. That is all I can say at the moment."
