Striker to leave Blues on free transfer

Barnsley have revealed they have agreed a deal to sign Garry O'Connor on a permanent basis from Birmingham. O'Connor is currently on loan at Oakwell, but he will make the move permanent when the transfer window reopens next month. The Scotland international's contract at Birmingham expires later this month and Blues are prepared to let him leave for nothing. O'Connor, who is in his second loan spell at Barnsley, has agreed a deal until the end of the season at the Championship side. The 27-year-old has scored three goals in eight games for Barnsley and his signing will come as a massive boost to Tykes boss Mark Robins.
