Mixu Paatelainen is expecting offers for Conor Sammon, although he is in no rush to sell the striker.

Paatelainen thinks that striker will be targeted in January

Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen is expecting offers for Conor Sammon, although he is in no rush to part with the striker. The 24-year-old is one of the SPL's hottest properties having bagged an impressive 11 league goals in just 15 appearances this season. Sammon is the SPL's second-highest scorer behind Kenny Miller and Paatelainen would not be surprised if his exploits are being monitored. Paatelainen would accept a 'ridiculous' offer for the Irishman in January as he would not want to stand in Sammon's way of furthering his career.

Unsurprised

"If there are offers for Conor - and I'd be surprised if there weren't - we'll look at them but I'm in no hurry to part with him," he told the Daily Record. "He's a pleasure to work with and right now he's the first name on my team sheet every week. "However, I know how football works and there will be clubs who have noticed how well he's doing and who will come in for him. "We don't want to stop players progressing. My job is to develop them and if we receive a ridiculous offer then we'd need to accept it. "However, as we proved with Bryson during the summer the deal has to be right for the club as well."
