Madjid Bougherra has admitted he is battling to be fit to play for Rangers this weekend.

Defender adds to Walter Smith's growing injury list

Madjid Bougherra has admitted he is battling to be fit to play for Rangers this weekend after a hamstring strain ruled him out of Algeria's friendly. The defender was due to represent his country in a friendly against Luxembourg on Wednesday but this injury blow will almost certainly see him miss that game. Walter Smith, the Rangers manager, will be praying that the injury is not too serious as his squad has already been heavily depleted by injuries. The SPL leaders travel to Kilmarnock on Saturday, and their defensive rock admits he is facing a race against time to be fit. "I'm not sure if I will play. I will have an ultrasound to assess whether or not I'm fit," he told the Daily Record.
