Leicester transfer target Ashley Williams insists he is happy at Swansea and hopes to win promotion.

Defender flattered by interest

Leicester transfer target Ashley Williams insists he is happy at Swansea and hopes to win promotion with the Welsh side. Swansea rejected a bid from Championship rivals Leicester on transfer deadline day, while Celtic have also been credited with an interest in the central defender. Wales international Williams admits he was flattered by the interest, but is focused on helping Swansea achieve their aim of winning promotion to the Premier League. "I wouldn't say I was disappointed nothing happened on deadline day," Williams told the South Wales Evening Post. "I just left it to the club - whatever they said was going to happen to me, that's what I was going to be doing. I didn't really worry about it too much. I wasn't going to make any noise about going - I was not too fussed.

Happy

"People don't realise that sometimes clubs are happy with what they are offered and then you have to go, but I'm happy with the way we've started the season and I'm happy to be here. "My aim is to get into the Premier League and, as of yet, no Premier League team has made a bid for me. There has only been speculation, so all I can do is concentrate on Swansea. "I'm happy doing that because I like the way things are going here. With the players we have signed and the players we have been linked with, everything looks to be on the up."
