Birmingham interested in landing Arsenal man on loan

Sky Sports sources understand that Birmingham have made an enquiry over a loan move for Arsenal defender Armand Traore. Traore's future is uncertain after finding himself down the pecking order at Emirates Stadium behind fellow left-backs Gael Clichy and Kieran Gibbs. The 20-year-old is nevertheless regarded as a bright prospect for the future and will be keen to play more regularly, having featured 19 times during a loan stint with Portsmouth in 2008/9. Juventus have confirmed their interest in taking the talented Frenchman but they now appear to face competition from Alex McLeish's Birmingham. McLeish is still looking to do business before the transfer deadline on Tuesday and Blues are thought to have contacted the Gunners regarding Traore. They are believed to have enquired about his availability for a loan spell as McLeish aims to bolster his defensive options.
