Hughes hoping to hold talks with Moroccan ace

Hibernian manager John Hughes is hoping to sit down and hold talks with Merouane Zemmama over a new contract. The Moroccan maestro is out of contract at the end of the season and Hughes is against him leaving Easter Road next summer. Zemmama is currently on the sidelines recovering from the knee injury suffered against Falkirk back in March. Hughes is a big fan of the 26-year-old midfielder and hopes a deal can be done to extend his Hibs career.

Talks

"If he wants to stay here we'll sit down and try to do it," explained Hughes. "He's definitely the kind of player I want at my club. "He's a fan favourite, a maverick, but I'm honest enough to say he has to become a team player. "But he can unlock a door and when that time comes we'll sit down and get to business."
