Frenchman looks to bounce back from Rovers loss

Everton defender Sylvain Distin is hoping his side can bounce back from their opening day defeat to Blackburn. The Toffees went down 1-0 at Ewood Park after goalkeeper Tim Howard dropped an innocuous-looking cross into the path of Nikola Kalinic, who fired in the crucial goal. Everton's next Premier League game is against Wolves at Goodison Park on Saturday and 32-year-old Distin says David Moyes' men must produce a response. "I think we are all looking forward to the next game," he told evertontv.

Reaction

"We have to put the Blackburn game behind us and focus on the next game. "The most important thing is to have a good reaction at home. We have to, we have no choice. "Tim (Howard) is OK, he was disappointed obviously. It is a mistake but it doesn't change his quality. The guy has saved us so many goals and so many points." Distin started 29 top-flight games for Everton last season and it will be interesting to see if he can hold down a first-team place this term.
