Sousa hoping to keep striker

Paulo Sousa is looking forward to working with DJ Campbell, who he says is 'very committed' to Leicester. The striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackpool and helped the Seasiders secure promotion to the Premier League. Campbell was interested in a permanent move to Bloomfield Road, while Ipswich were also thought to be keen on securing his services. Nothing has yet materialised and Campbell is back in training with Leicester, where he appeared to be surplus to requirements under former boss Nigel Pearson. Campbell has impressed new boss Sousa with four goals in as many games during pre-season and the former Portugal international now sees him as one of the key players in the squad. Sousa told the club's official website: "He is full of confidence in himself and he is one of the players in better shape and someone who is going to help us a lot this season. "I see all the time DJ with a lot of happiness in training sessions, his enthusiasm and these are the sort of players I want to work with. "He is someone very committed to me, to the club and to the fans and he is someone who wants to do great things for the club this season."
