Cardiff firmly deny links to veteran Leicester striker

Cardiff have dismissed speculation suggesting veteran Leicester striker Steve Howard could be on his way to Wales. The 34-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bluebirds as Dave Jones' side seek to bounce back from their heart-breaking Championship play-off final defeat to Blackpool. But Cardiff director Steve Borley, who is heading the club's transfer dealings this summer, insists the veteran is not an option for the Bluebirds. He told the South Wales Echo: "Steve Howard is not a target for us this summer. "The question really is, why would we want to sign a 34-year-old striker? The answer is, we don't want one."
