Defender set to seal permanent move
West Brom have entered negotiations with Auxerre over a permanent deal for Gabriel Tamas.
The Romanian centre-back has impressed since joining the Baggies on loan in January until the end of the season.
There was always an option to turn the temporary agreement into a fixed contract and talks have now started after West Brom sealed promotion to the Premier League.
Tamas, who scored the equaliser in Monday's 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, is now looking forward to staying at The Hawthorns next term.
"My goal was promotion with West Brom - and now we are promoted. I am very happy," he told the club's official website.
"My agent received a piece of paper saying they are going to buy me so hopefully I'll be at West Brom.
"When I first came here I said I wanted to play in the Premier League with West Brom so it's like a dream come true."
