Defender set for Pride Park switch

Derby boss Nigel Clough has revealed the club have agreed a deal to sign ADO Den Haag defender Danny Buijs. Clough has been trailing Buijs for some time and is expected to tie up a deal for his signature in the summer. The 27-year-old right-back was in England to watch Derby beat local rivals Leicester in March and he is set to make the move to Pride Park once the Dutch season is finished. "We are further down the line with Danny than any of our other targets at the moment," Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "Den Haag are fighting relegation and so he wants to concentrate totally on that.

Done deal

"Once the season is over we will get the deal done. Everything is agreed with Den Haag, it is just a matter of tying up a few loose ends. "He came over for our game against Leicester which was totally different to a Dutch League game, as you can imagine, a full-blooded East Midlands derby, but he enjoyed it. "I said to him before the game 'look and ask can you play in this'. He thinks he can."
