Brown keen to keep stars at Fir Park

Motherwell have offered Stephen Craigan a new deal to keep him at Fir Park. Craigan is club captain at Motherwell and Craig Brown is determined to sort out the Northern Ireland's international's future. Well have recently tied down Steven Hammell to a new deal and Brown is hopeful Craigan will follow suit. "Our general manager is on the case over new contracts and we have recommended who we want," Brown told the Daily Record. "Hopefully, some of the others will join Hammell. "Craigan has been offered an extension and there is no one we have said we don't want."

Transfer targets

Brown is also weighing up transfer targets for next season as he looks to improve his current sqaud. "If necessary we have players in mind who we want to bring in," added Brown. "We can't over-burden the squad but we are looking at one or two good players to help us out. "We want to get the best Motherwell can afford. "Other middle-range clubs in Scotland are in the same boat. "We are in similar difficulty financially."
