Brown and Heffernan impressing for Rovers

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope has suggested he is keen to have on-loan duo Wayne Brown and Paul Heffernan in his squad next season. Brown has recently extended his loan deal from Fulham for a second month, while Heffernan's initial month-long stay from Doncaster Rovers is drawing to a close. Trollope has been impressed by Brown's contribution to date and would be happy to bring the midfielder back to the club on loan next term. "We believe that Fulham are talking to Wayne about extending his contract," said Trollope. "I think they've been pleased with how he's progressed over the last few years. "He's a player who's a big interest to us, somebody who ticks all our boxes of quality, motivation and his athleticism, so he's one that whatever happens with the situation at Fulham, we'll be looking closer at his situation for next year."

Keen interest

Heffernan has scored once in five appearances for Rovers and Trollope has hinted at an interest in signing the striker on a permanent basis in the summer. Trollope added: "He's a player who's made a decent impression and we'll be speaking to Doncaster in the not so distant future about maybe extending it for the remainder of the season. His attributes have been there for all to see and he's done well for us. "The lad's out of contract in the summer so the situation at Doncaster needs clarifying. "But certainly he's a player that's fitted in with how we do things very well and we've got a keen interest in him."
