Striker wants place at World Cup finals

Djibril Cisse has his sights firmly set on a place at the World Cup finals after being recalled to the France squad. The Panathinaikos striker was initially left out of the Raymond Domenech's party to face Spain. But concerns over Louis Saha's fitness saw him recalled on Sunday. Cisse, although admitting his annoyance at being left out of the initial party, is determined to continue his current rich vein of form and make sure he makes Domenech's World Cup squad. "I'm going to tell you honestly, that really annoyed me, because I thought I'd done a good job," Cisse told Canal Plus. "What's most important is the World Cup. I'm not there against Spain but we'll see at the end of the season. I won't give up. "I can assure you I'm going to explode in the next two months. "I'm in a rage, but a good rage. Knowing that the coach is still thinking about me gives me even more hunger. A crazy hunger."
