Falkirk veteran Jackie McNamara insists he is not ready to hang up his playing boots and move into coaching.
The 36-year-old has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for a coaching or managerial role and was targeted by Partick Thistle last week.
However, McNamara, who has made 12 SPL starts for Falkirk this season, is keen to carry on his illustrious playing career for as long as possible.
The former Celtic defender draws inspiration from evergreen defender David Weir, who is still impressing for Rangers on a consistent basis.
Desire
"I still have a desire to play," confirmed McNamara. "My recent knee injury gave me a wee indication.
"You miss the training, miss the playing and those are things I want to do as long as possible.
"I see other boys a lot older than me who are still doing it. Davie Weir has avoided injuries and played a lot of games.
"When you get over a certain age, you are one game away from the legs going and being finished - that's the mentality.
"But you know yourself if you have had enough and want to call it a day. I'll keep going as long as I feel right.
"Coaching and management is the next step for me but just now I really enjoy the playing side."
