Strachan tries to land another former charge

Scott McDonald's agent has confirmed Middlesbrough are in talks with Celtic over a deal for the Australian international. Boro boss Gordon Strachan has been busy trying to bolster his squad during the current transfer window. He has already raided his former club to sign Barry Robson, Willo Flood, Chris Killen and most recently Stephen McManus. But Strachan is still looking for extra strike power, and has tried to land Rangers star Kris Boyd. But whilst a January switch for Boyd is looking increasingly unlikely - he is now trying to land McDonald. McDonald's agent Ken Anderson confirmed that talks were ongoing between Boro and Celtic. "All we can say is that we understand an offer was made by Middlesbrough to Celtic for Scott and that negotiations are continuing between the clubs over a transfer fee," he said.
