Striker set for Turf Moor loan

Burnley have confirmed they are close to signing Monaco striker Frederic Nimani. As exclusively revealed by skysports.com earlier this month Burnley have lined up a loan deal with a view to a permanent move for the tall forward. A number of other Premier League clubs were thought to be chasing the French Under 21 international, but Burnley have won the race for Nimani's signature. Nimani is poised to become Brian Laws' first signing since arriving at Turf Moor and Laws hopes to tie up the deal in the next 24 hours. "Quite clearly there is a huge interest and we are trying to do something within the next 24 hours," Laws told the club's official website. "However, until he signs he is not our player and there's not much more we can discuss. "We want to try to strengthen the team and while I am prioritising other areas, if there's an opportunity we can't miss then we will nip in." Burnley are also hoping to turn David Nugent's loan move from Portsmouth into a permanent deal.
