Bhoys chief plays down Gunners swoop

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray has played down talk linking Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos with a move to Parkhead. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had claimed Celtic were keen on signing the Swiss international with Senderos well down the pecking order at the Emirates. Senderos is looking to leave Arsenal as he looks to safeguard his place in Switzerland's World Cup squad and he had admitted his interest in moving to Celtic. However, Mowbray insists he has not made a bid for Senderos and has cooled talk of a possible move for the central defender. "There has been no bid," said Mowbray. "There is no decision (to be made) from Senderos. "You have been watching too much television." Told that Wenger had confirmed Celtic's interest, Mowbray replied: "We have an interest in many players, I would suggest. "For whatever reason, that came out today but that is only one enquiry of many (players) that we have asked about. "So I wouldn't be holding your breath too much at the moment."
