Midfielder Flynn insists he wants to extend his stay at Bradford

Midfielder Michael Flynn has denied reports that he will leave Bradford during the January transfer window and insists he wants to extend his stay at Valley Parade. The 29-year-old, who arrived from Huddersfield on a one-year deal in the summer, has also refuted claims that he is set to activate a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the League Two side mid-season. "I'm not the type to jump ship just because things aren't going as well as I hoped," he told the Telegraph & Argus. "There are lots of rumours about other clubs but that's all they are - rumours. Anyone who believes I think like that is totally wide of the mark." The former Gillingham captain was also quick to quash rumours of a departure to League One, with Brighton and Swindon thought to be leading the race for his signature. He added: "I would be keen to prolong my stay here if I can. Every footballer wants to play as high as they can and for as long as they can, and I'm no different, but I would like to do that here at Bradford. "Everything is right about this club - they're a good set of lads and management team, the chairmen have got their heads screwed on and the fans have been good to me, even when we are losing. "When I was at Huddersfield, I said that I didn't want to drop down to League Two and that's why the clause was put in. Bradford, to be fair, were the only club I would have gone to at this level. "They are a great club with a lot of tradition - a much bigger one than where they are. I know it's an old cliche but that's true."
