Keeper set for a few weeks out with suspected ligament damage

Roy Keane has revealed that Ipswich goalkeeper Brian Murphy faces a number of weeks on the sidelines with suspected ankle ligament damage. The shot-stopper picked up the injury in the warm-up prior to the 1-1 draw with Leicester on Sunday and had to watch from the bench even though he was in no fit state to participate if called upon. The 26-year-old only signed from Irish side Bohemians at the start of the month and must now wait to make his Tractor Boys debut. Ipswich boss Keane was disappointed with the news and was left to bemoan the club's unfortunate luck with goalkeepers this season. "Brian was on the bench but he couldn't possibly have played and the ankle is pretty sore at the moment," he told the club's official website. "It's possible that it's ankle ligaments and if that is the case, he could be out for a number of weeks. "We've not had much luck with goalkeepers this season. Shane Supple retired, Asmir Begovic went back to Portsmouth, then Richard Wright got injured and now Brian."
